The writing of spy novelist Robert Ludlum is to be brought alive by the computer games industry.
Vivendi Universal Games has acquired the exclusive video games rights to Ludlum's work, which includes the Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Identity, both of which were hits at the box office after being turned into films starring Hollywood A-list actor Matt Damon.
Although it is yet to be disclosed which novels will be converted into video games, it is expected that what is produced will be along similar lines to recent successful action-adventure titles, such as Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
Commenting on the ten-year deal, Jeffrey Weiner, CEO of Ludlum Entertainment, enthused: "Properties like Bourne and Covert One naturally lend themselves to video games, and we are excited to bring Robert Ludlum's stories to life in a way that has never been done before."
Ludlum, who died in 2001, had his first book published in 1971 and had huge international success.
