Logitech has shown off its new Video Effects software, which allows users to personalise their internet video calls.
The software comes with the company's new QuickCam Fusion webcam, recognises facial features, expressions and movements and maps them precisely to three-dimensional animations, called avatars, to create a fun, quirky video calling experience.
Five different avatars, including an alien and a shark, come with the software.
Commenting on the new product, Gina Clark of Logitech, said: "People are always looking for ways to add personal style, whether it be a clothing accessory or a distinct cell phone ring tone.
"Logitech Video Effects software allows webcam users to personalize their internet video communications in a fun and engaging way."
The software is compatible with all popular webcam applications, such as MSN Messenger.
