A third of British holidaymakers don't complain if they suffer from a holiday nightmare.
A poll conducted by YouGov for Direct Line, reveals that 37 per cent of us have experienced a ruined holiday due to problems ranging from bad accommodation to terrible food.
Distressingly, 44 per cent of Brits believe that flashy holiday brochures misled them.
Chris Price, head of travel insurance for Direct Line emphasises the importance of shopping around for something that will fully satisfy holidaymakers' criteria.
"If disaster strikes while they are abroad it can lead to an even bigger expense," he declared.
It is always a good idea to fully check out your accommodation and the local area before you book a holiday to avoid disappointment.
Travellers should remember that they have the right to complain and if entitled to they may seek compensation.
