Italy's tasty dishes extend to its locals as well as its food according to a new Teletext survey.
The dishes most people eye up when on holiday extend to the local population and both male and female Britons think that Italians have the sexiest accents.
However, holiday flings are often just that and do not develop into more meaningful relationships as those questioned revealed that 17 per cent of encounters last only one night.
Teletext Holidays' Nishma Patel suggested that romance was a factor for people when choosing a holiday destination.
"Our research shows that people are choosing holidays based on more than just good weather, stunning beaches and excellent food and wine
they're going for the quality of the local sights instead," she exclaimed.
The top three romantic holiday destinations were voted as Italy, the Caribbean and France.
