KLM Royal Dutch Airlines passengers could soon be flying in its new long haul Airbus A330-200.
In total eight Airbus A330-200s, which are specifically designed for longer flights, will be delivered to the airline.
The aircraft will operate on its routes to North America, Africa and the Middle East, which are all non-stop mid-sized flights.
At an opening ceremony, Mr van Wijk, KLM president and chief executive officer, said: "With the A330 we are buying an aircraft which is excellent in terms of fuel consumption per passenger, fuel emission and noise reduction."
The A330, hailed as a leader in its market category, will seat 251 passengers and is noted for its fuel efficiency.
All the eight new airbuses will be with KLM within two years as it tries to upgrade its international aircrafts and KLM passengers will hopefully soon see the benefits.
