Finally, the PlayStation Portable (PSP) has been released in Europe.
Britons have had to wait an additional nine months for this eagerly awaited product after its earlier launch in Japan and then the US.
Sony's newly unleashed product will provide players with films, music and web browsing facilities in addition to its primary function as a games consol.
As the latest 'must have' the PSP incorporates a 480 x 272 pixel screen with control buttons positioned on each side and on its bottom edge.
In order to take full advantage of the PSPs full range of features, players will have to buy UMDs, or Universal Media Disks, to play and watch movies and games.
To tempt players Sony will most probably be releasing a UMD version of the hugely popular game 'Grand Theft Auto'.
It also hopes to attract new players who will be drawn to the device by its range of multimedia facets.
PSPs are retailing for £179 and are expected to sell out rapidly.
