In recent times there have been health reports about DVT, or Deep Vein Thrombosis, and other risks associated with long-haul flights, especially flights not offering enough legroom.
So whilst customers have been flocking to the internet sites of cheap flight providers for short-haul flights, they prefer to travel in a bit more comfort when undergoing longer flights.
Malcolm Ginsberg, editor of Air and Business Travel News, believes that more people are using business class on long-haul flights for "very good reasons".
"If you are on a trip of four hours or more, you need the quality that the airlines are offering," he said on the 'Wake Up To Money' programme.
According to Mr Ginsberg, business class is also improving as several airlines have dropped the first class category so that business class becomes their top service.
Business passengers are able to use the service because the majority of their employers, 89 per cent according to Travelodge figures, do not force them to use budget airlines.
