Eurotunnel, the Channel Tunnel operator is slashing its fares in an attempt to compete with low-budget airlines.
It will offer fares from as low as £49 for a vehicle and nine passengers booking early or travelling off-peak.
The new tickets will also offer great flexibility allowing passengers to change travel times after booking.
This is the greatest shake up the passenger branch of the Eurotunnel has seen since its launch 11 years ago, and is designed to open up its doors to passengers who would usually travel with a low-cost airline operator.
Eurotunnel is facing a £6.4 billion debt and commercial initiatives such as this are all part of a five year plan by Jacques Gounon, chairman of Eurotunnel, to rescue the ailing company.
