Up to 75 per cent of serious property investors are planning on putting their money to the overseas property market.
With the UK market currently stagnant, property markets abroad offer investors the chance of rapid capital growth and high rental yields.
Kevin Axon, a property consultant at Emerging Real Estate, said: "Established overseas markets are still very popular, but it's the emerging markets that offer the best opportunities for investors."
Experts say that lucrative portfolios can be started with as little as £30,000, by investing in off-plan developments.
They are however warning investors to do their research as economies, infrastructure and legal frameworks in emerging markets could be hard to navigate.
But with yields as high as ten per cent in emerging markets, investors are sure to pick up on the opportunities.
